Location:
The United States is between the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean. It's bordered by Canada and Mexico. Canada's in the North and Mexico's in the South. USA also includes Alaska, which is connected to Canada and Hawaii a far island.
Rivers and Lakes:
The United States has a lot of rivers and lakes. The most popular river in the USA is The Mississippi River. A lot of the rivers are shared with Canada. Two shared rivers are: Columbia River and The Red River. The Great Lake system is the most important water system shared between Canada and the United States.
Size:
In terms of land area, the USA is the fourth largest country in the world. Russia is the biggest, Canada's the second, China's the third and the USA is the fourth.
Climate:
The climate in the united states is different in other parts or states. Example: California gets tornado's a lot, Hawaii is very hot, Florida gets hurricanes, Alaska has short summers and very, very cold winters, etc. If you were to grow crops in the USA, you wouldn't want to grow them in Alaska. That's why people grow more crops in warm places Florida grows fruits like tomatoes, etc. As you can see, parts of the USA, has same weather as Canada.
Natural Resources:
The United States has a lot of natural resources. One of the most important resources, is water. They use water for fresh drinking water, farming, and industries and to generate hydroelectric power. The water comes from lake
sand rivers. Another thing that's good about having a lot of lake and rivers around, is that they can get a lot of seafood.
The USA also has a lot of forests, which means a lot of trees. You can use trees for a lot of things. You can make paper, pencils, furniture etc. You can also make houses/shelter and fires to survive.
The United States has a lot of coal as well. You can make fires, generate electricity, etc.
The USA has a lot of resources which is good for trading.
